PRIMARY GEAR C WASHERit is better to use a new item if you are running a performance engine andyou wish to shim the primary gear up perfectly. This fits against the 88G549spacer backing ring.
This is the front plain primary gear bush(not the top hat one) that needs to be reamed after replacing. This is costly so with modern technology we have produced a floating bush that fits straight in the hole when the original is removed. The part number for this bush is C-AEA3240.

This is the top hat bush for all primary gears and is now silicon based to help lubrication of this dry running bush. For all Cooper S or 1275 type primary gears we also do a replacement front bush in silicon based material that is free floating and a super upgrade. See C-AEA3240.
